guy has three pair of motors, a pair of 2003 model 496's, 1994 model 454's, and 1990is 454's, all were in boats that burned. THe electronics were melted, sounds like he has long blocks to me. All were in running boats before the fire.
What are these thigns worth? I figured $5K on the 496's, and $2500 on the 454's, but I am wild guessing....

I wonder if the fire can warp the blocks, cranks, etc in such a way that they're worthless?

It can, depends on the temps. Gaskets can all be gone as well.
I personally would rather start with a submerged engine than a fire damaged one.
