Jim V did some work on the exhausts of my AFR 335 cnc heads. They flow 380int, 290 ex. at .600 lift now with no cheater pipe on the exhaust. He knows what he's doing. He recently moved to Florida and is working for Innovation. Super nice guy.

JimV fully ported my Dart Pro-1 310 heads as I was saying in another thread. He KNOWS those Dart PRO-1 castings real well because he has ported several of them for other boat guys. He has also done some work on the exhaust side of my 315cc AFR CNC ported heads.
I ended up selling the Pro-1's to "Tinkerer" and he put them on his 509's in a 34' Scarab III. I was in his boat and saw the GPS hit 78mph with 4 passengers on board! Not too shaby for a sleeper!
By the way, I just heard JimV is moving back to Michigan.

Jut spoke with Jim yesterday and he is definitely on his way back to Michigan. He has done heads for me in the past, the work is top notch and they make great power! You won't be disappointed.

Re: Best Person to port heads
Sounds as though I have been talking to an expert in field. He certainly seems very knowledgeable, as well as being a super nice guy. He is supposed to be in Michigan by the weekend. I just need and address to send them to. Thanks for the help.

I wholeheartedly reccomend Jim V. He did an awesome job on my Edelbrock heads. Even Tyler Crockett was impressed as to how well they were flowing.
Jim V. gets my vote. He is worth the effort to track down.

Bob what would consider a marine port job over a hp/race car??
I would guess building port velocity trying to build TQ.
Whats your thinking on this??

Re: Best Person to port heads
Jim Valakeo has done two sets of heads for my 34 SCARAB.
the first set were the stock cast iron ones - he put wedjes in them for a VERY noticable difference.
the other set he did were the ones I bought from KAAMA.
Jim does fabulous work - You WILL be happy with his work.
My boat stock did 62 - 63 GPS. It is now doing 79 GPS.

Re: Best Person to port heads
Just spoke with Jim today. My heads should be in his hands sometime this week. He said since he was just sitting up shop again, that he would be working on mine right away. Can't wait!
Found out today, that my CMI tailpipes are too short so it sounds likes like another $2,000+ to have some made that will take care of any water reversion problems that might occur with the more agressive cam. This project is a lot more $ than originally planned!
