EARL`s Sandwitch oil thermostat

I'm going to order Earl´s oil thermostat. I would like to know for sure if this will fit and work between mercruiser remote oil filter adapter and the oil filter on a gen4.?

Refer to the motor as a Mark IV not a Gen 4.
It's Mark IV, Gen 5 and Gen 6.

Yes, that's correct.

Its a Mercruiser 454 mark IV
