I fired up my old Nova last weekend, and was going though everything today to get it ready to put back in the water. I noticed that the right side exhaust is ejecting about twice as much water as the left.
My buddy, who used to be a marine mechanic said that this was normal, because of the rotation of the water pump, but on this one, I think he is full of it.
Last year, before I put the thru-hulls on it, I burned up two exhaust boots on the left side. The right side was fine.
I checked for restrictions in the t-stat housing, and all was clear. It has two new manifolds and risers on it (center rise). When it burnt up the boots, it had the old logs on it.
Any ideas?

some wild and crazy ideas here but the water goes thru engine and out the front of the heads to the water crossover in the intake manifold. Maybe something is restricting the water coming out of the left side of the head. You may also want to check your impeller and see if chunks are missing. Those pieces are large enough to block some water if they get wedged in there the right way.

I have heard that too. I have thru prop exhaust but when flushing the right side gets more water than left (slightly warmer riser). Also , once I hit and submerged bag and burned a motor up and the the left side got hotter than the right...I think the water pump rotation is reason.
