Leaking Intake Gasket?
I am having the problem of water getting into the oil. I have searched this forum and learned that others have had the same problem but my question is specific.
Is it possible that when torqueing the intake manifold it can come in contact with the block and not allow the water ports to seal?
I had my manifold welded and machined to take care of some pitting problems. I put it back together, ran it for 10 minutes and had water in the oil. I removed the intake manifiold and I noticed pressure marks on the gaskets, but not towards the water ports. I also noticed that the layer of silicone at the ends of the mainifold was very thin.
Is this what Fel-Pro makes 1/8" thick gaskets for?
I am certain the problem is in the manifold because the motor ran fine when it was originally torn down.

Re: Leaking Intake Gasket?
drewwilliams,
There was a lot of steam. The part # for 1/8" gaskets for rectangular port heads is FPP-1239. I ordered them from Summit for $19.00. Hopefully that will solve the problem. I am also going to P.M. this OSO member to see if he can offer some insight.
