Default what's involved in removing a Procharger?

I'm looking for some info on removing a Procharger from my hp500. I am selling the boat and want to keep the procharger for a 540 I am having built. Is it labor intensive? Does the motor have to come out?

Also, I bought setup from a guy that added a Whipple to a 525 , can I use it on a 540? I know I need to have the ecu reprogrammed, but what else ? Will the injectors from the 525 work? Who would you recommend to reprogram for the Procharger?

Thanks in advance!

Depending on you clearance in the front, you should be able to remove it in the boat. You will need to replace the main pulley on the damper with a stock single belt.

What modifications have been made to the fuel system? You may need to replumb it with stock components. And of course you will need the ECU reprogrammed to stock. Who programmed it originally? It may be password protected.

Post some pictures and i can walk you through it if you need help.

If procharger is a M1, don't waste your time. That procharger is too small for a 540

Any idea where I can pick up a used main pulley for a hp 500?

I am not doing the work myself on the build up...the ecu is stock from mercury. What type of fuel system mods are you talking about?

Here is what my builder is doing ...
540 merlin block, J & E blower pistons, scorpion roller rockers, lunati custom grind blower cam, scat h beam rods with upgraded arp rod bolts, merlin aluminum ported heads and match ported mec. hp 525 efi intake and cometic gaskets...not sure the name on the rest of the parts, but a new oil pump, lifters, valve springs and retainer.. he also had the crank magnafluxed and micro polished..whatever the hell that means.

Did they install a fuel pump and regulator? You'd need to remove them or leave them and adjust thme down for the stock system.

When the Procharger was installed they put in a Aeromotive pump and I was planning on using that. Would they have taken something off of the 500 when they installed the aeromotive?

I am not very mechanically inclined when it comes to motors, so thanks for the help!

Arizona Speed and Marine are the one they have expertise and they reprogram the ECU. If you can talk to Jim he is the best.
