Cam for N/A 588-598
Colorado boater (No air)

I would like 800HP what is the best cam for me? HY Roller or Solid? I would like to spin it under 6000 if not at 6000.

Last three boat have been blown Looking for N/A Mountain Motors this year.

Call "rmbuilder"/Bob Madara of Marine Kinetics in N.Y. He will take all your engine specs and engineer a cam profile specifically for your engine application and what you want to do with it. He has helped many boaters on this forum. Bob's number is (585) 654-8583.

Getting 800 hp out of those motors is very possible, but you may sacrafice some idling problems, by selecting a cam that can give it to you. I have a 259/270 .685/.685 Howard's solid lift roller, that idles very nicein a 588. My motor is blown so it is on a 114 LSA. I would back that down to a 110 LSA if you have dry exhaust. If not a 112 LSA. I have run this cam without the supercharger and it ran well.

Since we're on the subject. I have a similar question.
I'm planning my next engine, a 572 EFI, N/A. Hoping to get 700 - 750 HP.
What size roller/hydraulic cam would you recommend?
