Can anyone give me the heads up on removing the lower on an xz? ( looks like it has about six bolts) I broke my drive last night and think it's the lower that's bad. I wanted to start moving forward on the repair process. I was planning to take the lower to someone on tuesday. And/or start looking for a lower replacement. Any suggestions on a replacement?
Thanks guys,
Tom

take the complete drive, if something gave it up in the lower you should check the upper for secondary damage and it should be disassembled cleaned checked for damage, flushed ( to remove any metal from lower damage ) resealed and reassembled
Make sure you take it to someone that is familiar with your drive type ie if its a xz or xr dont take it to the local sea ray dealer or if its alpha gen 2 dont take it to the locale fountain dealer
Depending on what the tech thinks caused the damage there is a good chance it will be covered by insurance

Thanks Goodt, That makes sense. This will definately be out of pocket expense. I'm not sure who is the best in Atlanta,Ga but I know where to start ,I think. Would you go back with the same parts or up grade with something else?
