blower question
Blower made a pop today idling on the lift. WhenI pushed in the pressure relief button on the front of the 1671 BDS I heard a big psssssssssssssssssssst come from blower casing; Is this normal. I removed the belt and it was not smooth to turn. I guess a sealor bearing gave up.or crapped out.It started to rain so I had to bail.

Re: blower question
Sounds like you might of shered the pin that holds the rotors on the shaft, when you start it again it will sound almost like a rod knock, happened to my blower on my 67 camaro, sent it to the blower shop for repair $1,800 later it works fine again.

Re: blower question
Ok the rain stopped. I removed the belt and rolled the rotor around. Sounds very rough in comparison with the stbd blower, I guess I have internal damage. What usually goes in the blower casing. I have had blowers beforebut never incurred any mechanical problems with the blower.I had a big pop , it sounded like metal.Because a few minutes prior to the pop I had a couple clang clangs . I know it sounds silly but thats what it was.

Re: blower question
This could be the last time out I hit it a little and it slowed and bogged down > I guess it was happening then .Because the motors ran flawless/ If a pin sheared coud crap get into the bearings on the engine ?

Re: blower question
Cool place to check out. They do a ton of competition + regular blower stuff. They do some BDS stuff too.
