505 CI
Dart or Merlin iron heads (have use both)
9.4 to 1 CR
93-94 pump gas
6800 RPM
780 HP
40 degrees total timing
I have raced with this combination for years. I have never had any detonation issues on the dyno or in the boat.

Not all Tbolt packs time at the same RPM, some do not come to top time until real high RPM. Also there can be variances of a degree or two in the pack, I have the curve chart I think some would be surprised how much they vary. You can not make a blanket statement on the RPM the packs should bet set at. The best top time is set on a Dyno at at the packs design RPM, though I have set many on the water at speed. I think there is even more to this timing thing then we think, the curves are for given RPM's if our engines are propped below the design RPM of the what effect does that have. I think it is extremely important to properly identify the pack you are using and make sure you are in fact timing it at it top RPM. If anyone wants the curve chart mailed to them post you email.

P.S. I hope someone smart jumps in to help with this!
