What should timing be on a blower motor? The are 540s with 420 mega blowers. Adn they have the v-6 modules in them.

V-6 is 14 degree module, so you want to set your initial at 14 less than total. ie-16 deg initial=30 total. Probably start aroud 28-30 total and listen for any detonation. May up two or three from there.

A V6 module gives 14* advance on a V6 engine. It gives 8-10* advance on a V8 engine. Set total advance in the 28-30* range.

28 to 30 is plenty. look at the grounding bar on the spark plug. try not to let the discoloration go around the bend.

On the dyno my exhaust gas temps were way too high at 28*. They made the most power at 36* but have them set at 32* in the boat.

You all are to conservitive on timming.I guess it depends on the gas you can get?safer.

Watching the timming curve on my 500efi Mef 3 Whipple on the dyno on the top of the pull it was 35-37.even up to 9 psi Total was set at 36 locked out.We had the same timming in it at 11.5psi on race gas.

On my Scarab motor I dynoed at Oddys racing engines we set it at 35 at 11lbs of boost on 93.
