2 Water Temp. senders?
Is it normal to have 2 water temp. senders per motor? One is on the intake manifold and the other is on the block. They are spliced together before they go to the gauge.

Re: 2 Water Temp. senders?
You should have one engine temp sensor and one engine temp switch, the same goes for oil pressure. The switches are for the warning alarm. The oil pressure and water temp switch wires should be splices since they go to the same alarm. The sensor wires for the oil pressure and engine temp should be run to their corrosponding guages with nothing spliced into them. It sounds like you may be looking at the switches for the warning sytem and not the sensors for the guages.

You may have an older harness like mine with just two alarm switches which are on the common wire tan with blue trace as mentioned above. The later harnesses incorperate a bit more!
