Default Motor Problems

Ok first of motor is a vortec 350..I built this motor over the winter it has about 10 hours total on it now...well last time out i noticed that the valvetrain was a little to loud for my liking so I went over ever rocker arm and adjusted all using eo ic well I got to go out today and the motor runs great and quiet for about 10 minutes than starts backfiring....i slowed it down and that was it....I was able to start it and idle no problem...it was a little rough but nothing out of the ordinary...I gave it gas again and it immediatly started backfiring...than i slowed it down and it stalled...I couldn't get it to backfire in nutruel i would just pump the thottle up to 4000rpms and got nothing. I checked the timing. it didn't move i don't get it...any ideas?? NOW IT WONT START!!

wonderful way to start my 4th of july weekend...

ugh please help

I will pull the valve covers to check in the morning to see if they are still moving...the things that was weird is that it would start and idle fine...and rev in neutral...thne when i would hit the gas and go to move it would backfire at abotu 3000 then after that I couldn't get it to do much of anything other than idle...then i started checking the timing...i may have moved it so that it won't start...but originally the timing was fine

Check fuel pressure. Fuel starvation is a very likely cause for backfires. Also consistent with the fact that it does not backfire neutral.

Well I just ran out to check this morning...unfortunatly I am stuck at work today, but have off all next week.(planned to use the boat) Well what I noticed was no fuel to carb...thats why it won't start now! So now i start troubleshooting. Knowing my luck its the cam lobe for the fuel pump! Wish me luck!
