Unhappy Wiring info on sending units

My SAGA continues with wires problems.

Got the engine back form the marine mechanic and have a mess on my hands with wiring it back up. I found wires cut where there were butt splices. I matched those wires back up and connnected them.

I have an oil pressure gauge and a oil temp gauge. I found one hole where a sensor goes at the remote oil filter location at the front of the engine, but can't find a wire to connnect it. I also have a green wire with a factory black connector on it down where the oil lines go into the block but no place for a sensor. It looks like someone may have stuck a plug in the side of the block down by where the oil lines go back into the block. In the box of parts I got back there was a small piece of black painted pipe with a 45 on it that had fine thread in it for some type of gauge.

I also have a red 16 or 18 gauge wire in the boat harness, no the engine harness that is cut and just hanging there. Not sure where that goes.

When I put the Whipple on they added a fuel pressure gauge. I think I found the wire but can't find the sensor. I think it goes on the Whipple fuel pump that I got rid of in favor of new fuel system. I'll probably have to order one from Livorsi.

Can someone shed a bit of light on this or point me in the right direction for info. I bought a SELOC marine book on the engine but it doesn't give all the info I need.

Thanks,
Shawn

it sounds like someone "enginered" the wiring the only thing you can do is trace the wires to where they go all I can do from here is tell you what the factory color wires are suposed to be For instance the oil press sender should be a blue wire ect if you tell me what motor it is Ill put up a wiring diagram for that mtr

Its a 96 502mpi

Thanks for the help on this one. What a pain in the A**!

Could someone give a location where these items ought to be installed on the engine?

I appreciate you guys taking the time to chime in on this one!!

do yourself a favor now and buy a new harness
you can terminate the wires and not have any but splices to give you trouble later on.
The wires will be long enough to terminate wherever you need to. Locate all you senders and teh you can run the proper wire to them.
When we rebuilt my 500hp we added oil temps in pan
Also there are the warning indication senders
