Just don't let this guy GOODT (Joe Heller) work on your boat. He is a dirtbag and still owes me $1,000.00

I know several BIII combo's over 62 MPH. Mines one.
To the extreme end, member Clay Washington used to have a Crownline 225 open bow with a Whippled 502 and a BIII that ran a best of close to 75. I'm guessing the one being discussed is also a 225.
I think it depends on the boat. Swap one on to a Cig and it may not run quite the same as a pleasure boat hull.

I have always heard that the Bravo 3's are slower too. I would think that a whippled 502 in a 22' Crownline should top 75 easily with a bravo 1, they have a pretty flat bottom and are not terribly heavy. My cousin has one with a 305 and it runs high 50's gps with an alpha. It seems like if the bravo 3 is so efficient you would see them on performance hulls.

The BIII on the 225 also benefits the hull by the props being set farther back than the BI which gives more bow lift and that is what the 225 needs. I think the BI with a Stern Jack is the ticket for top speed on the Crownline hull.

He's right about the BIII. I wasn't eluding to the BIII being efficient, what I was getting at was that on some boats, the BIII makes the a difference which outweighs a more effiecient drive.

I have always been under the impression that B3's as said above hit a wall around 60. I cand see some potential though, the blackhawk was twin propped and was fast on the right hull. It was a surface drive though which eliminates alot of the drag.
