On a 96 502 MPI the coil has 4 wires, one heavy red and a white from the main harness and the other has a brown and pink that go to the distributor module, I am installing a MSD 6A box and the instructions say to tie two pinks off the coil together and two whites together but on my coil that would be the white and brown together and the heavy red and pink, is this the right way?

Use the MSD GM harness adapter (PN8876) it makes it easy to hook up and, equally important, easy to reconnect without the MSD box should you have a problem.

That harness would hook up the same way the MSD diagram shows, I just want to make sure the wires on my boat are the same in the diagram despite the color difference.
