2005 350 mercruiser alarm question
Getting an alarm going off every 2 minutes for just 2 beeps .Had it happen after the 25 hour check because dealer did not top off drive resevoir, but topping it off stopped it.
Checked all fluids, gauges and bilge end everything is as it should be.Engine has 125 hours on it now could it be an alarm that reminds you of an oil change? The alarm leads to a brown wire with a blue stripe.
If anybody can help would appreciate it,would like to use the boat in the morning and the dealer is backed up till christmas.

There are several things that can cause a "soft" alarm like that. You need a scan tool or Smartcraft monitor to tell you what the Fault Code is.
It has nothing to do with scheduled maintainance.

Re: 2005 350 mercruiser alarm question
I am currently experiencing similar problem on twin engine boat with 6.2 MX engines, that we just purchased. During sea trial, no alarms, ran just fine, and we ran it for about an hour all through the throttle range and several times off to on plane. On maiden outing with all of the family on board, within 5 minutes of leaving the dock, started getting 2 beeps every minute (or 2 minutes - didn't really check interval) on starboard engine. About 30 minutes later, got continuous alarm and shutdown mode - corncobbed seawater pump impeller on starboard engine! Removed sea pump, found all the pieces of the 8 vanes, and then installed new impeller. Pumps like a fire hose now ... but still have that miserable 2 beep alarm. Don't think that the two were related, since I now have excellent water flow and "normal" water temp, but still have the 2 beep alarm situation. Having engine scanned tomorrow. Been down this road before on a different boat with the 2 beep thing and the scanner didn't show any codes, everything was "fine" according to the scanner, even though it was beeping as they were scanning it. The tech said there was a problem sometimes with the ECM's getting into a "ghost mode". Guess I should have called ghost busters instead of merc tech who was scanning it?

Just had this occur on my 6.2 on a trip from South HAven back to the dock in Michigan City. It was the IAC (idle air controller motor) that had failed. The motor would run welll but did not idle well in gear. New IAC ($96) fixed it AND the alarm. The alarm was beep beep evry couple of minutes.
