Re: 496HO hot manifold
My pump was scored at both the cap end, and the bottom of the housing, so I rebuilt it with a rebuild kit from R&R Products. It has stainless plates that go on both sides of the impeller. Real nice kit.

I intstalled the kit about the month ago and am curious to see how it holds up in the long run. Were you able to reuse the gaskets or did you install new ones?
Here is the kit we are talking about seems to be a better alternative to replacing the whole pump.

Where did you purchase the R&R kit from and how much did it cost? It looks like a slick improvement to the brass wear surfaces.

Re: 496HO hot manifold
I just put it in this morning when I rebuilt the pump. It seemed the better alternative to replacing the pump due to scoring.

R&R is out of AZ and they sell them direct. 928-453-6411. I think it was like $150 about half prive of a new pump.

Re: 496HO hot manifold
I live in Lake Havasu, and that is where R&R is located, so I purchased it direct. The kit comes complete with a new impeller, the plates, gaskets, and all new hardware. It is a very nice kit, and has very nice detailed directions with pictures to guide you through the install.
I hope the pump rebuild will fix my problem, as the pump had scoring at both ends, that had to effect flow and pressure.
