is the only difference between a mag and a non mag motor a 4 bolt main set up? I just brought the new boat home and the stock motor was just put in for the summer. i ran the 3's of the block and it came back a 4 bolt main. does this mean it is a mag or are there other things that could determine it too?

What does "I ran the 3's of the block" mean?

I believe that all Gen V and Gen VI (1990 and newer) 454s have 4 blot mains.
The Mag/HO has forged internals vs. casts in the low out put engine.

The 365hp 454 mag are like a 70 Chevelle LS6 motor minus the cam and compression.I ran a 365 mag blown at 760hp for 3 seasons.no probs
