Changing Drive Oil in the Fall
I have always had my drive oil changed prior to laying up for the season. I am going to play around with shorties in the spring, is there any down side to leaving the oil in over the winter months. I will have about 12 hours on the new engines and the drive oil was changed at that time. Using Amsoil 70/85-90w synthetic oil. Thanks.

Only downfall could be if there is any water in the oil. If it freezes...it will be an issue. With only 12 hours, as long as the drives don't have any leaks, you should be alright. For the insurance, I'd spend the bucks to drain and fill.
Not sure about leaving them empty though?!?
