High Performance/Flow Fuel Pumps
After a real nice talk with Arctic Friends, it has been brought to my attention that I will need to upgrade my fuel pump for my new engine: 850+ HP, Fuel Injected with an M-3 Procharger.
I have been running the Aeromotive A1000 for my 638 HP engine. So what is the best pump for the $$ and what is best for my application?
Weldon, Aeromotive, Holley, Other?

Re: High Performance/Flow Fuel Pumps
I'll be running about 65# injectors at 50 - 60 PSI. I see they have several that are up to task. Any proven results.
Remember, this is my family boat!!

There is an A1200 pump that might be enough. It wasn't enough for 1000 HP but should work for you. That way you don't have to change any of your plumbing/fittings. Some have had good luck spinning the A1000 faster with higher voltage using a Kenne-Bell pump booster.

Re: High Performance/Flow Fuel Pumps
It looks like I can buy a kit and add the filter or use my Peterson Filter.
Street & Strip Combo Kit:
2025 Fuel pump
2040 Regulator/relief valve
14000 Dial-A-Flow controller
Are you guys using the Dial A Flow controller? What's the benifit?

Stay with the Aeromotive pumps. We have had excellent reliability with them. Weldon's in my back yard and haven't had any support from them when they fail. Very over priced as well for what you get.

I'm no engine builder so I'll yield to Deans advice and experience.
I can say the Aeromotive pumps are the most requested pump we offer. There must be a reason.

Re: High Performance/Flow Fuel Pumps
Kurt,I'm running the Eliminator but it would only carry 65 psi under boost so I had to add the kenne-bell voltage booster. They do have one another step up called the pro series but I was worried that when my boost referincing reg closed the fuel pressure would go past 75 psi and make the injectors screw up because it is rated to 90 psi. Years ago aeromotives had a problem with the insulation inside coming apart and clogging injectors which gave them a bad rap but luckily I never experienced it.I have never heard of anyone experiencing problems from the Weldon pumps but I'm going on what gpm and tyler crockett told me a few years ago,not personal exp. Remember to run 10 gauge wire minimum with a hd relay triggered by the wire on the mefi that normally powers the pump or your output will suffer. If your shooting for 850 hp with 63 lb injectors you will probably be ok with the eliminator, like I said I had 65 psi,it took 15 volts vs 13.5 at the pump to get me to 70 psi but 100 hp more,Smitty
