Default Cross-over install

Thinking about installing a cross-over and taking off the cir. pump the question i have is I have 2 hoses going the exhaust they are revolution marine (454) one in the bottom and one in the front, can i eliminate the bottom hose on the exhaust. Also, what about the bypass hose that runs from the water pump up to the intake manifold.

There are many different ways to set up a crossover system but the most popular systems are 1 use a crossover pipe and bypass hose to relieve pressure because of the thermostat blocking the water flow when it is closed, you will also need to change the thermostat housing so the bypass hose can enter at that point, all of the water flow can be run into the bottom of the exhaust manifolds or headers and the top port can be blocked off, if your manifolds have restrictive gaskets between the manifold and riser they will need to be changed to gaskets that flow a larger volumw of water. 2 you can run a crossover pipe with no bypass and you will still have to change your thermostat housing, the water can be run into the exhaust the same as describe above, and the way you could regulate water temperature is by installing restrictive washers in place of where the thermostat would be. No mater what system you choose to try be sure you always maintain the correct amount of engine block water pressure. Good luck.

So I can plug the water inlets on the front of the exhaust and run through the bottom of the manifolds. There is no water jacket on the manifold to the riser. It comes out of a hose on the manifold and connects to the riser. It would like boatmans. About the water psi I do know there is a reducer in the water intake hose that is on the discharge side of the oil cooler before it reaches the motor. Will the bypass make a difference in performance or anything?
