Default 600SCi Upgrades

Hey does anyone know how to upgrade the 600Sci's to gain some more HP? I was thinking about possibly ordering the 700's blower pully, ecu, & intercooler. Do anyone know if that is the only thing that is changed? Does anyone know what is the max boost pressure we can run on that motor?

Thanks
-Rob

gto,
The cam profile is very different between the 600 SCi and the 700 SCi.
Regards,
Bob

ok so it looks like i would need an ecu, pully, camshaft, & larger intercooler. Does anyone have an idea where to get these parts? I could order them from mercury but i would need a 700sci serial number. Thanks- Rob

You would probably be much better off to sell the 600sci's and build some custom power if you want 700hp.

I agree with Griff on this one.

I have a friend with a 600SCI in a 30' Super. He has researched all avenues to turn his 600 into a 700. The ecu and other parts from Merc are big big $$. You can replace the ignition and computer system with MEFI 4 but then you lose the smart craft.

From what I have heard, the Mercury 600's dyno well over 650HP...

Hey Zup,
For sure you can get around/replace the system and turn up the boost on a 600SCI. There are lots of Whippled 502EFIs making 700+HP.
I'm quite sure that AZ Speed, Precision EFI, Tyler Crockett, and other builders could provide a new ignition, harness, and MEFI 4 ecu ready to go.
The problem is, you would have to be willing to loose the Merc Smart Craft.
