Default sEA WATER PUMP DRIVEN FUEL PUMP

A quiestion for you guys about this, I have removed the fuel pump and installed a big electric Aeromotive pump that came with the pro charger. When I removed the mechanical fuel pump I noticed thet there was oilo in the area that the arm goes down into. Is this area fed oil from the motor or is it just a cavity that holds oil for the mechanical arm. I fired up the motor today and I guess there is a leak here because i noticed a good puddle of oil directly under the sea water pump....I did not put gasket sealer on itwhen installing the block off plate, so perhaps that is the problem, I am going to replace the gasket between the sea water pump and the block off plate and put sealer on it before torquing it down. Am I missing something here? Anyone enlighten me.

by the way this thing has some serious blower whine at idle, sounds good!

That is just a cavity to lube the pump arm. Drain the oil, and reseal.

That oil, Mercury HP Gear Lube BTW, also lubes the shaft and bearing. Drain and refill with new lube and then seal.

Yep, it must have the oil to lube the shaft and bearings.
