I dont remember where I got that diagram from, maybe Hardin Marine, not sure. In any case, my system is from Hardin. Their tech support recommended I plumb it this way. They say they want the filter after the cooler, just in case their is some debris that gathered in the cooler. That way, if it comes loose, it will get caught before going back into the engine.
