We have them in stock with or without flappers. Flappers rattle at idle and can be a bit disconcerting but you get used to it.
With Flap: List $ 79.95 OSO price $ 57.40
Without Flap: List $ 64.95 OSO Price $ 49.95
Call or email me if you're interested.

You run the risk of getting a surge of water up the exhaust & damaging the engine.. Unless you have high & dry exhaust run with the internal flaps..

Does the length of the tip have anything to do with the sound?

By the way our 2 biggest selling tips are the Eddie marine & Corsa tips.. We have some others as well, but those 2 are usually the most common..

The sound is the flap rattling on the pivot pin. The flaps are metal with a vulcanized rubber rim. You can get tips with rubber flaps that make no noise but the flaps burn away. The rattleing isn't all that bad but most guys notice it right away.
Like Jamie said, the water makes the biggest difference in sound. The length is all about the look and is limited by the hight above the water line. Longer tips look more old school in my opinion (and I like that look).

A little vid.... lets see if I can get this in.

Just warming up. You can't hear the flaps from the outside but if you open the hatch up and stick your head under it gets noticable.
