In regards to the reliability of these headers, these castings are not easy to produce and there are always exceptions to the rule where a casting wasn't quite right (can happen with any vendor with any product).
Generally speaking, these things will last forever. All you really have to do is make sure you keep water to them, and have an air pop-off on your strainer so you don't get steam pockets collecting in the top of the header.
We have ran them on our BT for 15 yrs. We have been putting 1500hp+ through them the past few years and have beat them to death, and they still run with no leaks.
