Default Do your engine breathers smell?

I am thinking on redoing the crank case ventilation. Current setup is 2 #10AN lines to flame arrestor. I was considering changing to the filtered type (K&N, Morso, etc) that mount to a tube on the top of each valve cover.

Does this type smell after running when you idle around our stop for a while? I am concerned the oil vapor will drift out of the engine compartment into the cockpit.

Rick

Rick

I run these and I have no problems with any odors out of the engine compartment. I do generally run the blowers when I am idling or sitting still though.

if the motor had some blowby you will smell it depending on the engine compartment , my Hustler you can smell it. I put the breater by he air intake and that took care of it.I do have blowby at 9lbs of boost.pistion to cylinder clearance is high on mine

I am changing my system up this winter #12;s and a Moroso puke tank that has a baffle ,fiter etc.we'll see?

I just changed mine back to the hoses to the flame arrestor. Had the K&N push in type filters. You do smell oil a little after running hard. Also I noticed a fine oil film over the engine after some long runs.
