Default Thermostat Housings Again

OK, OK, I know this has been beat to death but I still have a question. I did a search and read through all the past posts but still cannot find the answer.

Question,
I am looking for a two hose bypass housing. I like the OEM Merc style. Even better, I like the S.S. unit one by Sierra. I have been told there is a specific one for Bravo and a different one for Alpha drives. I need the one for an Alpha drive SBC setup. Can anyone help ?

Thanks, Dave

I believe I have two stock Merc T-stat housings off '89 454 Mag in my storage area if that would work for your application.

David,
I am going through the same ordeal. You can get new ones from a mercruiser parts vendor. They are a bit pricey. From my research, the stainless one from Sierra cross references to the alpha part. I just could not find a Sierra part in stock anywhere.

DKerns,
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to check with some of the local supply houses. So, in your research there are two different ones ? One for an Alpha and one for a Bravo ?

RedDog,
I'm not looking for the stock units. I'm looking for housings that use one cooling to hose to each exhaust manifold.
