Question Flame arrestor materials

I see lots of K&N filters used as flame arrestors. Anyone know how effective these are and if they are guard approved?

Also; Does anyone know a source for the stainless mesh used in other flame arrestors?

What height do you need on the mesh?

Actually, I am looking for either a strip or sheet that can be cut into circles up to 3.5" in diameter.

Do you have knowledge of the K&N filter passing a s a flame arrestor?

K&N does make USGC approved flame arrestors.
