Ed, whats wrong with using a fitting? Seems to work quite nicely and he should already have one.

I bought a Machine Marine starring kit from CP Perf a few years ago that came with different fittings, i think it was a push lock type?

My Hustler has the Marine Machine I had a hose blow off a fitting on the inner transom, made a f'ing mess, I was dead in the water. So I bought this mandrel so if it ever happened aging I could fix it and not mis a poker run again. The fitting a buddy gave me from his job , I think they were about $3

I remember it was HIGH from machine marine

hope this helps

As far a pressure 1500 is easy to get with a 1/2 hp drill dead heading the pump. or like if your turn all the way dead heading, maybe even higher

I had some video on my thread here

Default P/s Pressures

If You Have Full Power Steering You Will Have To Use A Crimp Or Mechanical End On The Hose. The Pressure On Full Hyd Steering Is Over 1250 Psi We Have Measured It Up To 2100 Psi. This Depends On Manufacture Specs. We Have Also Measured Spikes In The System Well Over 3000psi. We Sugest A Parker Hose Model 422 -6 3/8' This Hose Is Rated For 2250 Psi
Operating Pressure And 9000 Psi Burst.for The Return Line A Good Push Lok Style Hose Will Work Fine. We Have Never Seen A Pressure Over 80 Psi On A Return Hose. This Is From Helm To Cooler And Cooler To Tank.

Most of the hydraulic steering systems on the market are supplied with the re-useable hose ends, and the bulk Aeroquip 2651-6 hose. It's a black hose with the internal steel reinforcement. Makes for a little bit of a pain in the azz to cut.
