Yeah to what he says and just have everything magnafluxed (checked for cracks), and properly machined. Can't stress enough about good accurate machine work for a marine engine environment. Also, I would replace the rod bolts with some new ARP rod bolts. Glad you got the GIL's---you're good to go....just have them pressure checked for any leaks before you install them back in the boat again. Have Fun!
