Sure enough, that was the culprit. The engine we lost detonated in the cylinder closest to the blockage, a valve broke and went through the rest of the engine. With the new engine, we cut down the fitting, and no more water flow problem.
The exhaust is a Stainless Marine manifold.

Thanks, I will try that if it happens again.

I would check that the fittings are not too long in that event. The fitting we had a problem with was the starboard front. Check them all and see if they are good. If there is one bottoming out, it is an easy fix. Cut the fitting down until the blockage is gone. Good luck!

Went boating yesterday. Started the boat up and sounded fine. After a short cruise and stop I started the engine and it sounded funny again. I turned the Captain's Call ON/OFF a few times and then it sounded fine. The oil looks good. I am almost positve the port side Corsa Captain's Call internal diverter is sticking in the closed position.

Had a very similar problem. I had a bad relay on the Corsa wiring. 1 side open, 1 side closed. On my set up corsa had two relays 1 for each diverter solenoid. Now there is only 1, and a lot less wire. Works good now.

Yes. If water flow was a problem the manifold would get noticably hot.
