Default 454 Advice Needed

Ok need advice/opinions will this work.

Do you think I can get 500-525 hp at the prop out of the following build ?
What would you recommend.?

-Start with GM short block 454HO #12498778
-Heads Edelbrock Perfromer RPM Aluminum#6145- Intake 290 cc/Exhaust 110cc runners and chamber 110cc
-Cam duration at .050" tappet lift (intake/exhaust) is 224/234 ; and using 1.7:1 rocker ratio (intake/exhaust) is 527/544.Valve lash is zero/zero and lobe centerline is 110 degrees.
-Intake would be Dart single plane #41214000
or Edelbrock Victor 454-O with Holley 830cfm

Any help appreciated.

I am running almost the exact same engine right now.
I am running a mkIV block 7.4l with gm perf aluminum heads 110cc with 1.7 rockers zz502/502 cam wich is the same as what you have,zz502/502 intake. The only thing i have diff is i am running 10.7:1 compression with the srp 10:1 forged pistons and a BG 825 carb.

If i use the 20hp per mph to figure my hp gains i picked up 200hp from the stock 330hp. I gained 10mph and still have some rpm's to find.

So if i go from that i am pushing 530hp.
I have not dynoed the engine so this is just a wag.

If that makes sense

You're basically building a 454cube version of a ZZ502 with a single plan intake.
I think you will be close to 500HP at the crank with headers.
Probably more like 450HP at the prop.

I believe the Edelbrock heads are the same as the GM perf heads.

I do remember reading a thread about a guy that started with a ZZ502. The engine dyno'd around 480 stock.
He had the heads ported, changed the cam to a 500EFI, and changed to a single plan intake.
I believe the engine made around 550HP with the mods.

You may consider starting with a 502 vs. the 454.

It sounds like a 460-475 HP engine at the crank.

IS THIS A ROLLER CAM?
