Question Bravo 1 trim wires???

My sonic 31ss has the original outdrive trim sending units and the wires feed into the gimble assembly. However, I can't see them coming into the engine compartment anywhere. I can see the drive fluid hose and shift cable, but not the wires for the trim.

Anyone know if Sonic or factories just cut them off during the install since they use the mechanical indicators?

Reason I'm asking is that I took off the original senders from the outdrive to install the new livorsi indicators, so now I have the old senders just hanging there. Livorsie gives you new pucks that work with their setup.

I was just going to cut the wires off, but I wanted to make sure they weren't wired to something else inside the boat and I won't be shorting anything out.

And I don't see any wires coming from the gimble up and into the wiring harness.

Any ideas?

You might have dummy senders.
Even if you had senders and cut some wires it will not affect anything.
There is one nut with a 7/16 " head that holds the wires in the transom assy. You can use a 1/4 " drive swivel socket and gain access. You may find that there is a rubber plug in the transom assy. where wires go through. BBB

These are regular senders with the wires still attached and the wires go into the gimble. The senders are just dangling by the wires right now.

I'd like to pull the wires out, but don't want to open up a hole for water to get in.

Guess I'll cut short as possilbe and leave dangling inside the gimble. Would rather actually remove the wiring all together and plug for a cleaner install.

Is this 7/16th nut viewable from inside or outside the boat?

If I pull the wires out, is the plug hole accessible from inside or outside the boat?

I'll have to take a better look at it when I get home tonight!

Sure, once I disconnect them.

I'd like to pull out all the wiring, but want to make sure I can plug them up first. Otherwise, I'm just going to cut the wires.

Is there a special plug needed?

Anyone know if it's possible to access the hole these wires run through???

Hello,

Thank you very much, I will email you. You can just cu the wires as close as you can. I have wires already, the place where the wires go thru should be water tight. I can send you the empty puck or you can leave it off.

Best regards

Shooter.... got the senders off....

With a mirror, I was able to see that they cut the wires just as they feed through the transom

Let me know where I should send them.. I have both port and starboard....

The new livorsi mechanical senders I put on replace the type that mount to the hydraulic cylinder. The new livorsis mount up top and have a bracket that comes with a new puck... so I'm good to go.. appreciate the offer....
