Cuda .... your quite right!
But my question is, IN THE KNOW of what?

God forbid a Baja owner should mention his favorite car, a favorite food, or even a TV show he enjoys.
I'm quite sure it would be criticized as being out-of-the-know,
especially if it became known that his favorite boat was a Baja.

People definitely give Baja an undeserved hard time.Baja sells alot of boats and every Baja owner I talk to loves their boat. Some people just have to rain on everyone elses parade to enjoy their own life. Believe it or not their are boat snobs just like their are wine snobs and beer snobs, etc. People give me a hard time for drinking cheap beer, but i bet you I can get just as drunk as the next guy. So what if I have to **** all day the next day, maybe I like sitting on the toilet

When I bought my first boat last year (after many years on friends boats), I wanted to start out with something nice but small to get the hang of ownership. I had just got back from getting it and was telling two friends about how amazingly clean it was for a well used boat. One of the guys has a 27ft baja and the other has a monster boat he can't afford to put fuel into (I won't get more descritive than that since many of you probably know him). Guy with the big boat says "Oh, you bought a production boat??" After he walked away the guy with the Baja said: "what an Ass!" Funny thing is, his bad ass boat is in for repair more than it's out on the water, and several times I've passed him on the way to somewhere because he's under the hatch trying to get it running again!

Boat snobs indeed!!

PS. Coming from 17 years in the auto industry, I wish someone could explain what makes a boat "production". To me, any vehicle that's built mainly by hand is not production. heck, I love my "Production" vette. Sure wouldn't want to try building one from scratch!

Peterbilt trucks switched to line-production in 1987 with a new model 379 replacing the hand built 359 tractor.

The warranty claims dropped 70%

This is what was stated by the factory management, some people with 30+ yrs.
