Default 34 Scarab III

Is anyone from the In, Chicago, Great Lakes area farmiliar with a 34' Scarab III...1988 Named "Lumberjack Racing" I recently purchased the boat from a bank, former owner died this winter...would like info on who built the engines ect. ect. ect. Boat has Merlin heads & B&M superchargers and seems to run well...but would like to know what I really have?

Wasn't this the boat that was for sale on EBAY or something, said it did over 100 mph or so?

It may have been, that is the rumor +100 but I really doubt it. I shut it down early because it handle poorly, may have been my lack of driving exp. over 70 mph, although it doesnt have hyd. steering yet! u

Post some pics, my buddy has a 1988 Scarab III with 420's and trs, runs slightly better than 60. I would think you would need a pair of 900HP motors to see 100 in that hull.

I will work on the pics.. At 4000 rpm it feels faster than my imp at WOT, My guess is Mid 80,s I get a hand held gps this weekend and find out>

Mine ran 74.6 with these...have 650hp beining completed as we speak !

i have a 87 and it runs 65.4 with 370hp trs.

scarabman34 what size props are you using and what the gear ratio i have 85 34 with 425 horse and it run 58 to 62 depending on conditions

does anyone one know how much hp i need to hit high80s
