I've done a search on this topic and near as I can tell its 50/50, with almost no personal account of success or failures. Even Fel-pro says it's ok and Cometic says no.
I understand the Fel-pro gastket 1037 to be for standard bore, blocks the water passages between head and block (which it does) and are listed for all year models. Are there mods to be made or run as is for all heads???? Fel-pro says run 'em as is.
As always the "great deal" I found on heads couldn't be Mk IV but are Gen 5. So now I must decide which way to proceed. If anyone has run the Mark iV block, gen 5 heads and fel-pro 1037s successfully (or not) please let me know.
(if anyone has a fresh set of Mk IVs setup for solid roller let me know too!

I was told it could be done and we found out the hard way. Once the motor started making water pressure (no more than 15 lbs) the head gaskets leaked (after 15 minutes run time) and filled two brand new blower motors with water.
Went with Dart Pro 1's and problem solved.

Biggus - thanks for the reply. Not sounding too good. Did you run the 1037 gasket? Fel pro claims that is the ONLY gasket to run for this combination otherwise you will get water leak. They swear I will have zero issues but wondering if they're blowing smoke....
