Default Which Supercharger is better?

Hi everyone, I have a 30' campion chase with a 500hp,cmi headers(525 php with headers and computer re-programmed). Throttle body fuel injected. It has a volvo dpx outdrive on it and presently runs 71mph on gps with 3/4 of fuel in it. I would like to put a supercharger on it however would like to know which one would be the best and also how much more mph can I gain?

Thanks in Advance

Whipple Or Procharger. Quick Facts. Pro Charge M-1 3.5 Lbs Boost 660 Hp 5 Lbs Boost 740 Hp. M-3 5 Lbs Boost 765 Hp. M-1 Cost As Of Right Now $5299.99 And M-3 Cost $5999.99. You Will Be Able To Mount Right Up But It Would Be Sugested That You Get You Ecu Reprogramed And You Have To Run 91 Or Higher. The Whipple Is Up To 750 Hp And The Set Comes Complete Ecu Included. Also Runs 91. Whipples Cost Is $8999.99. They Are Both Outstanding Units And Will Make A Big Differance. As Far As How Much Mph You Will Gain. This Is Only A Guess. 1mph For Ever 10 To 15 Hp. But There Are Way To Many Variables To Give A Real Number.

This is a Volvo engine/drive set-up. I wasn't aware ATI made one for these, but then again, I haven't looked at their stuff in a few years.

With a Merc 502, the ATI innercooler will not fit between the engine and rear seat. You have to modify the rear seat a little or remote mount the innercooler. I would think the a whipple system would 'package' better in this boat, but then again, I'm not sure if they make one for this Volvo motor.

I have a procharger M-i on a highly modified 7.4MPI. Plan on re-programing if you go procharger. The guy I bought my procharger went from mid 70's to mid 90's with 5PSI on a 30 somthing Skater. My boat is a 9000# cruiser and I am still trying to achieve 50. The whipple will give you low-end torque as the procharger needs to spool up. I don't know if you out drive can take the getting on plane torque but that will be the deciding factor as to which system.

Yes I really don't know what the volvo dpx outdrive is good for as far as rated horsepower, something I need to look into...........I wonder if I will have enough rome for the M-3 procharger.................

My above statement was for a 30' Campion Chase 900 w/Merc 502MPI w/M3 and AW504 intercooler. The cooler, mounted on frt of engine, would not fit without some rear seat mods or remote locating the cooler.

As far as the statement about needing more low end torque than a centrifugal will supply..... No Way !!! Not on this boat, or most speedboats for that matter. They will make enough low end and midrange to snap Bravo gears at will. Torque management has to be done with your right hand.
