Thanks everyone heres an update. Oil temps do not fluctuate190-225d max, the motors have huge oil coolers on them and no thermostats so the engines run cool at 125-135 water temp. Running Canton 10 quart pans w/ windage trays. Installed new sender still have the problem, I thought it might be a bad ground??? Cut oil filter, no debris. Will lower by 1-2 qts and test. Also, will put mech guage on and test. Any other ideas keep them coming! Update to come after test. Thanks!!!

I had the same problem when I was running Canton 10 qt. pans. In my opinion there JUNK. I bought Gil 10 qt. pans, and the problem disappeared, no other changes. Call me and I'll tell you my story if you want. Todd 734-625-0727.

There are a few things that may be the source of your problem. Pick up height, too much oil in engine, Main bearing clearence too excessive, ect... If you would like give me a call to discuss over the phone so I can get all the details. I will be mor than happy to help. (216) 398-8500

Sounds like you are getting air entrained into the oil. Judging from your earlier posts you are running a wet sump. During high rpm runs the oil is getting aerated faster than the bubbles can rise to the surface. Once you slow down, the air floats to the surface and the oil pressure rises. Once air bubbles are present in the circulating oil, the oil becomes "compressible" and the pump looses efficiency. Try a different pan with better windage trays, or convert your oiling system to a dry sump.

with a HV pump if you don't have restrictors in the upper end the oil ends up pooling in the head, and can't drain back fast enough... been there, got the teeshirt...

Update: Pulled a little over 1 quart of oil out of the pan and problem solved. Ran at WOT for a good run and solid pressures at 70psi. Will it hurt the motors to run 8-9 quarts vs. 10 quarts???

No, it will not hurt the motors to run 8 instead of 10 quarts. It's funny because I just found this thread, and as soon as I read the post I was thinking oil level too high, causing airation. Many people I know actually run 8 quarts in the 10QT pans for this very reason.
