Another water in oil question
Guys -
I drained the oil from the bottom of the pan and got what looked to be perfectly clear oil but with white slime streaks in it. The oil on the dipstick looked good.
I have had oil/water problems before but I have found that once the two mixed, the oil always looked like greenish brown milkshake throughout.
Is this a clue as to whether I still have a leak, or could this just be condensation?
I'm wondering if this is just water condensing when the engine is off and settling in the bottom of the pan, emulsifying my oil little by little, until enough collects to get picked up by the pump and appear on my dipstick after a hard run.
Thoughts?????

sounds like condensation, is you motor running up to temp, 140-160, if you engine temp is to low it will cause this. sounds like nothing to worry about but keep an eye on on it.

Look at the underside of your valve covers.
If you have a water problem it will put a coating of froth on the under side of the cover.
Pull the oil filler plug and run your finger around inside and see what you get.
If you are getting noticable water in th e oil you either have a motor that is running TOO cold or you run your boat like my wife drives mine. The engine oil MUST get to over 212* or it will load up with water.
If you do get on it once in a while and you still have signs of water in the oil then it is more than condensation.
OH - condensation doesn't happen enough to mater when the engine is off.
