gen 6 454 block-1037 gasket question
i am putting mark 4 heads on my gen 6 block. i have the felpro 1037 head gaskets. as i set the gaskets on the block, i notice it blocks the front coolant hole on the front side of the block. on the rear of the block it leaves one open. i took a pic of it without the gasket but im having problems getting it off my camera.
this is the front
the rear without gasket
with gasket
should i drill that coolant passage out or should i leave it alone?

TJ,
Leave it alone, the front holes are supposed to be blocked off. The water flows into the block from the water pump, goes all the way to the back then up into the heads, then it flows forward through the heads to the thermostat housing and back out. There is some circulation through the small holes to avoid hot spots etc.
Hope this helps,
