115.5 separation doesn't make much sense. Does he mean a 115.5 center line? With that little compresion, it would need to be there to keep the reversion down.

You need the rest of the cam specs, but with that compresion, it doesn't sound like you are upgrading very much from a stock engine. 8.5:1 is a flat top piston.

3K is a deal if it is ready to go, 3K is not a deal if you have to pay to have it taken down and modified. You will have to know the exact specs of the cam to determine if your exhaust is compatible. What are you planning to use?

My pockets are allowing me to run stock exhaust. 3K is for the long block but I think they would change the cam if I needed them to. THe main guy was gone to the Barret jackson auction and will be back this week. I will talk to him and get all of the info

that is a pretty low compresion engine, so that may be why the lobe center is so high at 115.5. You might be able to run stock exhaust. There is the aluminum upgrade to the stock manifolds on ebay from time to time for a couple hundred bucks. It will pick up a little, and lighten the engine by a 100lbs or so.

Good luck.

Not much for one like that. I actually don't have one ready that is set up to run stock exhaust.

I probably couldn't put one together for less than what he is charging you and then there is the freight. If you can get a CMI set up, I'll sell you the red one that I posted earlier for 4K. Stock exhaust will not work though.

450hp out of a 454 is pretty easy to do these days...with the hydraulic roller cams and head variations these days....but yes, it starts with a good aftermarket better breathing manifold exhaust system. Stainless Marine would be my first choice.
