No, no you have it all wrong. The 24 cs has a 509 c.i. with a stage one procharger. Approx. 750 h.p. . Yeah it's a screamer. 93 MPH with a 34 pitch 4 blade.

The 575 was in a boat that I was thinking about buying a wile back. I have since passed on the idea but have become friends with the guy. When I was looking at the boat the owner told me he was having this problem. So I figured, since he's not really an active Internet junkie(he's almost 70) I would post the problem, and try and help him figure things out. By the looks of things he might have a cracked block. The weird thing is that the oil oozing out of the dipstick looks great. Not even a trace of water (visually that is)!

Merc 400's and 420's came with spring to hold dip stick in place. 2 cents worth.
