Default gen v 454 mag install into trs setup

i just bought a trs project boat, as it sits now its has 2 merctransII trannys and 2 trs drives. both the condition unknown. the boat was missing both motors and acc. i have a line on two full dress gen v 454 365 mags, so i am told the merctrans will hold to that. my biggest fear/question is what will it take to make these motors work on a trs setup. i know i need a drive plates and pilot bearings but my main concern is the oil cooling, and the sea water pumps and so on. i am very comfortable with bravos, and this trs thing is little scary. any ideas or help would be great. thanks

Not sure what the issues with oil cooling or water pumps are if the Gen V motors include those parts.
Just bolt them up.

The Trs cooling set up is much like the Bravo. It has a seawater pump, but offshore intake, instead of coming through the drive.

Pretty simple, remove the Bravo bellhousing and coupler, install a drive plate. On the MercTrans, the bellhousing is built into the case.

Also, you will need to feed the tranny cooler, it's located inside the trans case. They were orginally fed with a small hose off the sea pump.

Yes your Bravo sea water pump will work. It is the same one that TRS uses. The small hose is after the pump.

did the gen v's come with fuel pumps?; if i'm not mistaken the mercruiser packages w/gen v motors had the fuel pump as part of the raw water pump assembly. - good luck. jeff
