what will the added h/p gain do to the ecm?will i have to re-program the unit?i was told that any change to the engine other than stock will result in the engine not running in tune,therfore the ecm will have to be reprogramed,is this true?baja bob,what brand of rocker did you break?thanks all for the input.

As others said, it will reduce valve train friction......
As said before, buy quality and not a no-name off of EBay.

Another thing to remember is the new motor oils have less and
less of the stuff that protects sliding surfaces. (The old oil additives hurt next gen cat convertors)

One of the major reasons the Gen VI has roller lifters and rockers.

There is literally no down side to full rollers. Better efficiency all around.

A higher lift rocker is something to really consider. More lift in the rocker is like spoofing a bigger cam, except more rocker lift is quicker than more cam lift.

As said before, they won't give you a ton more power. The engine actually runs the same way so no ECM change necessary. you pick up power from the lack of friction (assuming you stick with the same rocker size). if you bump to a bigger rocker size you may need a reprogram.

I bought a set of 1.8 rollers to replace the stamped steel in my 502MagMPI last year but never did install them.
My fear is the stock valve springs that have about 150hours on them.
Do you think I should change the valve springs if I do want to install the 1.8 ratio rockers????
I don't think an ECU remap is necessary with the 1.8, but maybe a little more fuel pressure.

ray,what aluminum rockers do you perfer?how about harland/sharps,1.7?

Stainless are so much more bulletproof and unless you're running a 7500 rpm supercat motor the aluminum one's won't give you any benefits.
