Default Seeking build advise!

Hello, I have been reading this forum for a long time and really appreciate the knowledge I have gained. I am hoping to find a few answers…

I am pulling my 7.4 mpi/procharger m1 this week. It runs fine, but I want to change out the cast internals before something bad happens. I am not looking for balls out hp as I like the smooth dependability I have right now, just figured I would make improvements where I can while the engine is out.

I am looking for advice on which way to go.

- I want to keep the procharger- I like the way it runs and it is a lot of HP for the
money. It also fits nicely into my engine compartment

#1 - I am thinking of installing your basic eagle or scat forged rotating assembly.

Should I change the rods or not?
Any input on which brand or parts to go with?

#2 - I have a complete 454 efi setup I want to put on so I a have a better fuel
system and greater cfm for the procharger (only gonna run 5 psi). I am
looking at a pair of relatively inexpensive rectangle port heads (14097088)
that are needed for intake swap.

Any input on weather this is a good or bad idea?
Is this going to be compatible with my gen vi block?

I am on a pretty tight budget and don’t want to throw down for high dollar heads, which raises the next question –

#3 - If I pull this off, am I going to get away with my stock exhaust?

Oh yeah, another guestion,

#4 - What cam would you recommend?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody???

O.K. how about this.... Would EMI Thunder manifolds with EMI cast aluminum risers suffice on this set up?

I used a stroker crank, stock rods and the pistons to match the crank and made a 496 that was strong with 049 Oval ports. The 088 and procharger set up would be stout. It's hardly ever a bolt together though. Find a good Machinist and builder to help.

What intake did you have on that with the oval port heads?
