Default can i cap off my exhaust bellow?

I have a 454 with thru hull exhaust, it currently has the T section on them to make it so i can put all the exhaust through the prop, but i never do that, and cant think of any reason id have to, could i just put a rubber cap on the oval part where the bellow is?

I put a cap on mine when I converted my Donzi to through hull. It works fine.

You can cap it. My bull horns weighed a lot. I removed the "y" diverters and bull horns. Sounds much better and lost a lot of weight. You can buy a block plate or make one.

thats the new stamped version, they used to be just a flat piece of aluminum about 3/8 or so thick, It don't need the indentation in it.
