Default merctransII removal help

i have read on here about a compression ring with six bolts? where and what are these? i have the drive off everything is disconnected it just wont come out of the inner transom ass.

There are 6 1/4-28 nuts that need to be released.Look into the hole where the drive was removed and you'll see em'.

ok, i know what your talking about now. should i just loosen a little or remove the nuts completly. what about the other end of the bolts in by the trans. will i need a wrench or they won't spin? thanks

Just loosen the nuts, they are on studs.

ok i will give it a shot. thanks for the help. this is my first experience with trs drives. for old iron they really are kinda ahead of there time.

i backed off those 6 nuts and it came right out. thanks for the help guys
