I'm refreshing my 540's and trying to determine which spark plug wires to go with. I have the GM HEI distributor and ignition system, and am considering buying a 25' spool of MSD 8.5 mm Super-Conducting wire, 115-degree pro race plug boots and silicone distributor boots. This way, I can make the wires to the exact length I want. Are there any durability or radio-suppression issues with these wires, or anything that someone recommends as "better"?
Also - Does anyone make an aftermarket "crab" cap for this distributor? (It makes plug wire routing SO much neater...) If not, who's cap holds up best? My original caps had aluminum inserts, and the way they corroded looks pretty scary!
Thanks, fellas!

C spray try NAPA they are the only ones I have found that still use true brass terminals not the alumium stuff. If you look in the catalogs at MSD and other major companys they are using alumium. Their may others but I have not found them.

OK. After some on-line shopping, I found some Taylor kits with nice 135 degree easy-grip boots:
#70253, Red universal set, 8 mm Pro Wire Resistor Core - $52.39 at Summit
#79253, Red universal set, 10.4 mm "409" Spiral-Wound - $109.69 at Summit
#918132 - Cap & Rotor set, Brass inserts - $22.39 at Summit
Anyone used this Taylor stuff?

The Taylor guys were VERY helpful. I went with their 8.2mm Thundervolt wires (available in a number of colors with matching separators). Only 50 ohms/foot and no RF interference. $69.99 a set at Summit.
